Little Bears was founded out of love. Cindy Cromwell founded Little Bears in 1987. She wanted a place where children could feel loved while learning. Parents could go to work with peace of mind that their child would be loved as if they were being cared for by Grandma for the day and yet still be learning. A place where learning was extended outside of the classroom for young minds to explore. Being raised on a farm down the street from Little Bears, Cindy loved to appreciate nature and wanted to share that love with children by purchasing a large tract of land to start Little Bears. Over the past 37 years, Little Bears has changed from a small, remodeled farmhouse to five buildings designed to house each age group. But one thing has always been true: love for children and learning. Many of our Little Bears children's parents attended Little Bears when they were small and remember the same loving staff members still at Little Bears today. Many Little Bears graduates still stay in contact and have gone on to become many things. Many are now teachers, nurses, firemen, lawyers, police officers, doctors, and even a drummer in a national band. Many will stop by or email to reminisce about the good ole days at Little Bears, and many are surprised to see a picture of themselves still on Mrs. Cindy's wall. Little Bears started as just one woman's labor of love for children and grew into a large family of families caring for each generation to come.
